Dawn Blackwood was raised in a world of fantasy, where bedtime tales of goblins, fairies, and dark forests were as real as the fireflies that lit her grandparents’ valley in the Appalachian Mountains. From Grimm’s fairytales to films of mysterious goblin kings, she found comfort and inspiration in the strange and the magical. Summer nights beneath flickering porch lights and glowing woods sparked her earliest stories, blending wonder with the ordinary.
Though writing was a constant passion in her youth, life and careers led her down other paths for many years. Now returning to her first love, The Trendless Princess marks her debut novel, following a lifetime of crafting poems and short stories that capture her fascination with mystery, imagination, and light in the dark.
Still rooted in the mountains that raised her, Dawn continues to draw from the quiet valleys and starry skies that first inspired her, hoping to pass on that spark of magic to new generations of dreamers.

She creates worlds where imagination runs wild, every stick becomes a sword, and every moonlit night hums with possibility. Sheena lives in the rolling hills of Southwest Virginia with her husband, two kids, and three lovable dogs. When she’s not sketching new characters or dreaming up adventures, she can be found with a mug of coffee in hand.
